Complaints

If we've got something wrong, we want to hear about it and put it right.

How to complain

Send your complaint to the Managing Director, either by email or by post:

Please include as much detail as you can — the date and time of the broadcast, the programme concerned, and what it is you're complaining about. It helps us look into things properly.

What happens next

  1. We acknowledge it. We'll confirm we've received your complaint in writing, explain how it will be handled and give you an estimated timescale.
  2. We may ask for more. If anything needs clarifying, we'll come back to you for further information.
  3. We respond. We'll tell you what we found and, where relevant, what we propose to do about it.
  4. You can appeal. Our final response explains how to appeal our findings if you're not satisfied.

Contacting Ofcom

We'd always rather hear from you first, because we can usually deal with things quickly. But this procedure doesn't limit your right to complain to Ofcom, the broadcasting regulator, and you can contact them directly at any point.
